The first thing that needs to happen is for us to get to know a little bit about each other. The relationship is important. We can talk about things that we all sometimes have a hard time talking about with friends and family because we also talk about your strengths, maybe ones you might not even be aware of. I think there is power in talking to someone who isn't in your life every day and someone who does this for a living.
Adults: 18 + Teens: 13 - 17 Things we can talk about: grief, loss and palliative or end-of-life care, anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder) difficulties with developmental transitions, family struggles, parenting, sleep, work stress, self-esteem, LGBTQ2, and gender identity.
I have not worked with children in individual therapy so my recommendation is to look for someone who does. I would be able to help with people 13 years old and up, depending on what the youth wants to work on. Get in touch if you have questions.
I have been supervising clinicians since 2021 and have completed Clinical Supervision training from the Adler Graduate Professional School. I have trained in many modalities and I am comfortable working with people on therapy, rather than working from any single model. See the models I have trained in here. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions.
