Loss is a part of life and sometimes we have supports in place and we don't need help from outside of our circle. Sometimes we are hit hard with emotions and struggles we were not expecting and we have a hard time functioning. If this is the case, grief counselling can often be just what we need to get to a place where we can get some relief from the emotions and live in our changed world and begin to feel less stuck in our grief. Find out about my specific training in Loss, Grief and Bereavement Studies at King's College at the University of Western Ontario here.
Sometimes we experience trauma associated with the death of someone close to us. I am trained in a number of therapies that are proven to be helpful when you have experienced different kinds of trauma. Whether you have a diagnosis or not, there are ways that I can help you move through and process your trauma, often without having to talk directly about it if that feels too painful. Find out about Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) here and the other therapies I have training in here.
